The history of the Blythswood Square building dates back to the early 19th century where it was once a set of Georgian townhouses owned by wealthy merchants but after careful restoration and a tasteful transformation this landmark building opened as a luxury 5 star hotel in 2009 with the only AA 5 star accreditation status in Glasgow.

Facilities 

The Blythswood Square Hotel has one suite, The Monte Carlo Suite, which can accommodate 80 dining guests and 120 evening guests in total and has an adjoining bar, The Rally Bar, which is ideal for use as a champagne reception area.

Wedding parties at the Blythswood can receive private access to the Blythswood Square gardens for use as a stunning backdrop for wedding photos or even a unique alfresco drinks reception for your wedding guests. The hotel has a private cinema room which is the first of its kind in Glasgow and can be used to show wedding photos or memorable movie and has a capacity of 40 guests at a charge of £250.

Services

Ceremony hire ranges from £650 – £1750 depending on the amount of guests attending and where you wish your drinks reception to take place and the cost for room hire includes a dedicated wedding coordinator. Sample wedding packages are available to give you an idea of what is possible for your wedding day along with the amount it may cost per person.

Accommodation

Blythswood Square has 93 newly-refurbished luxury rooms and 6 individually styled suites, the suites have separate lounge areas and a dining room and the top floor townhouse suite has a fantastically furnished outside terrace with an amazing view of the city.

The creme de la creme of the hotel’s accommodation is the breathtaking penthouse equipped with its own private lift and entrance, private bar and dining room as well as a furnished private roof terrace overlooking the city. The penthouse is a two-bedroom apartment with the master bedroom boasting a wet room and sunken ‘spa’ bathtub; a walk-in wardrobe; media lounge with views across the city.

The Blythswood Square has a fully equipped gym and spa with 9 luxury treatment rooms, thermal experience with a range of experiences, two relaxation pools, a rhassoul mud chamber, spa lounge and dining area plus several relaxation areas.
