The Glasshouse is a 5 star hotel in the heart of Edinburgh city centre and was established in 2003 after being converted from a church to a hotel and wedding venue, aptly named from the stunning glass-sided building exterior. The Glasshouse retains the Gothic-style stone facade of the Lady Glenorchy Church it once was which creates a striking contrast against the contemporary glass panelling design. As you pass through the 160 year old Georgian archway, the contemporary styled interior captivates you with impressive spiral staircases leading up to a bright, spacious mezzanine where you can look out from the original feature church glass windows to the city of Edinburgh.
The Glasshouse has the best of both worlds by offering a two-acre rooftop garden oasis whilst being ideally located in the heart of Edinburgh city centre, this tranquil setting creates a wonderfully romantic atmosphere and is a perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony and wedding photographs. There are many indoor and outdoor options for the location of your wedding ceremony such as the outdoor terrace; the balcony, on the rooftop garden lawn, or you could opt for the best of both and have your ceremony take place in the indoor observatory where you’ll be surrounded by floor to ceiling windows overlooking the rooftop garden.
The Glasshouse can accommodate 80 dining guests and a total of 110 evening guests.
This 5 star hotel can take the hassle of wedding planning by offering 3 different wedding packages to choose from at tiered prices with each including wedding ceremony and reception room hire, red carpet, wedding meal & drinks package, wedding stationary, centrepieces, evening buffet and much more. With the help and advice of a dedicated wedding coordinator, tailored wedding packages can be made especially to suit each wedding couple.
All wedding packages include complimentary bridal suite for the bride and groom on their wedding as well as preferential accommodation rates for wedding guests. All rooms and suites feature floor to ceiling windows offering stunning views over the city, some rooms have private terraces almost as big as the rooms themselves whilst others have direct access to the two-acre rooftop garden.
